Laura McKaughan, Principal of Envirolutions Consulting, has served as Lead Instructor for San Mateo County’s Master of Local Sustainability course since 2017. Watch a video about the program here. The courses are taught over a 9-week period during weekday evenings alongside other experts in the field. They are offered for free requiring only that students (who must either live or work in San Mateo County) participate in 40 hours of volunteer projects within a year’s time in the sustainability field.

​Laura provides the Bay Area community an excellent resource to network and engage their knowledge of environmental and sustainability issues and apply them in a hands-on manner. Students are able to learn from each other in the classroom setting, and network, apply and teach their knowledge within and to the community, which provides a positive environmental ripple effect.
